Whether it's food on-the-go from Bruno's Gastro Truck, a new place to fuel up, like Gills Creek Marina, or a taste of your favorite beverage at The Lake House Beanery, new businesses are popping up at Smith Mountain Lake.

The first of the Thursday accidents occurred around 2:50pm on U.S. 29 south near Covesville when a southbound pickup truck crossed the median and slammed into a northbound tractor-trailer, according to a police release.

The Charlottesville Albemarle Convention and Visitor's Bureau held an award ceremony Tuesday at the Pippin Hill Farm and Vineyards in North Garden.

Monday night, fire and rescue crews were on the scene of an overturned car on Route 29 in the North Garden area.
