Eight months of a mentoring partnership between North Franklin Elementary School and the Ohio State University's Delta Tau Delta fraternity has yielded more than 700 hours of volunteerism and innumerable learning experiences and relationships.

Fire departments from municipalities surrounding Washington were summoned today to the Ramada Inn in North Franklin Township after hotel employees smelled smoke in the lobby.

David K. Herbert, 32, of 54 Benham Road, was charged Sunday with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to have tail lamps and making a restricted turn.
