Ahh But he did so after Jesus was condemned by the Sanhedrin. The Sanfedrin just wasn't allowed to carry out a death sentence so they had to get Pilate to do it.

and yet the Romans rushed thru it & got it over with because of the passover...Its was actually the people who put him to death... Pilate didnt even find him guilty he was sorta stuck in the middle..

Are we going to go through this again? According to the New Testament, Jesus was a Jew if I might remind you all of that fact. His early followers were Jewish and it was only Paul who opened up early Christianity to the uncircumcised (Gentiles). Pilate's motivations remain unclear.

There were many factions among the Jews of Jesus' time so blaming "the Jews" as a single group for Jesus' death is ludicrous.

I would love to wash my hands of the whole Fred Phelps Clan...as in ..they stopped existing. If this doe not prove how whacked they are, then nothing will.

I've wondered about that too. I cannot understand why "reverend" Phelps is so continually obsessed and blaming of all society's problems on gays. I suspect there is something in Fred's deepest deep that he is trying to remove from himself. He will die, soon, I hope, a self loathing bitter old man. As for that big mouth daughter of his, maybe she will finally fade from view. Who cares? Piss on them, with someone else's organ.

All rights are constrained by what 12 members of a jury will decide. I feel confident that 12 ordinary citizens would decide to muzzle this man and his group and deny them any right to this hatred, this bigotry, this loathing, these hate crimes.

My rights end when they interfere in another's rights.

Common law would have exiled these people to some isolated island somewhere and checking back in 100 years to see if anyone is left alive or have evolved.

A friend of mine, K, is a former trial judge from Kansas and was one of phred's kids' debate coach in college. K is a gay man, and he was one of phred's first targets. Apparently, K told phreddie where to go, and phred NEVER bothered him again.

When I married my wife last year, K performed our wedding ceremony, and he did a VERY nice job.
