Interesting, but not surprising to read that Colton has one of the highest percentage of fire services and salary costs at 39% of the public safety budget compared to a statewide average of 29%. 10% overage on 28.8 million dollar public safety budget would equal a savings of $2.8 million. Too bad the Colton 4 didn't look at that obvious excess spending instead of laying off public works employees and jacking utility rates thru the roof. Then again, they were all supported by the Fire Union which gave them large financial contributions so why should they look to do what's right for the rest of us.
No wonder why fire continues to push candidates like CM Perez while throwing quality people like Isaac Suchil, a 21 year public safety veteran, under the bus. Gotta keep that gravy train rollin' at all costs. Just more good ole boy business as usual in Colton.

Too bad most of the Colton citizens don't realize or even care about how the fire fighters get paid so much. The union will support any candidate who will keep the money rolling in. Actually I don't think I'd want their support. Look at their record. Five previous candidates who were supported by the fire union are now convicted felons. How's that for picking the right candidate. They look at one thing. Will this candidate keep the increases in pay coming?

i am sick of every agency in this state complaining about money. they weren't complaining years ago when the money was pouring in and they pissed it all away thinking it would never end.

the words are simple: mis-management of public funds.

blah blah blah.
