Investigators are probing whether a severed human leg found in a rural area of Sutter County may be related to a nearby missing-person case.

A human leg was found Monday in Sutter County, according to Sacramento police. At about noon on Sunday, Sutter County deputies said they responded to the river bottom area of Garden Highway and Lee Road in Nicolaus on a call of possible human remains found.
