NO, HAP is only for relocating service members. You should contact your own lender to see if there is an assistance program for you.

The program "must" be changed or another system implemented.

We are fortunate enough to be on the buyer's chair relocating back to the area. IF we knew of a military mbr who is HAP eligible, we would look at those homes first.

That is awesome! HAP still does not have directive published, they did about a month ago, and took them off the website. I am following up daily.

Any details yet??? VP Biden announces this program and there is no follow through by our elected leadership. Can't wait for health care to get the same treatment!

I'm hearing the 1 July 2006 is still the cutoff date. I can't believe they are using that date. The market didn't really collapse until early 2007.

Well, I wrote my Congressman on this cutoff date. It does not make sense when you look at the reason behind this program. If I run into money issues on my house, I stand to lose my security clearance because of a date.

I think that is a great idea. Each day I check the HAP site, and no changes!

Still no word from my Congressman. Guess I'll call him now. I'm hearing an updated bill is in the Ways and Mean committee and expect movement on it within 2 weeks. No real changes except some tax exemptions and 1st time buyers being extended and bumped up to possibly 12K vice 8K. 1 Jul 2006 is still the cutoff.
