Geeesh AV, we get it - you know how to spell the word 'socialist'. Yup, public schools are socialist. So are the roads that lead to them and the bridges that may be on those roads. When the toilet gets flushed, it goes down a socialist sewer system. The water used to do the flushing comes from a socialist water treatment facility. The fireman putting out the fire are from our local socialist firehouses and the cops detaining this miscreants are part of a socialist police force that includes City police, County sheriffs and State CHP. But don't worry your pretty little head, pretty soon we'll all be on our own.

OMG a-drain, is there ANYTHING you won't blame on socialism/democrats?
I'm kind of thinking the decision to paint the bathroom had a hell of a lot to do with this mess, and the felony arson charges are WAY over the top for an accidental fire that no one would have known about if the school hadn't used that paint.
Putting all the blame on those two girls is cowardly, they have to take their lumps for what they did but shouldn't have to take the lumps for the bonehead adults who used such a flammable material in a school.

You guys suck... this is about those kids (all of them at the school) and how this could've been avoided.

These girls are old enough not to do this, and they did... They deserve the punishment they get. It is no ones fault but their own and their parents (remember they are minors).

My son goes to that school and could've been hurt, because he is in the same building as that bathroom.

Stop bringing the shit of politics into it!!

As ridiculous as their behavior was, how many boys under the same conditions have been charged with a felony arson-or even charged at all? Their parents must not be well known and liked by the mucky mucks-other wise it would have never even been in the news at all. Beileve me, I KNOW.

This is a fine example of what happens under socialism when government becomes God.
These are minor children and while the stunt was dangerous it should not be treated this way. When I was a kid and this kind of thing happened it was taken care of in the Principle's office or our in the hall where everyone could hear it and the miscreants came away thinking hard about how they could never do anything wrong again for the rest of their lives. Now these kids will get a life-changing lesson in how big government can screw up anything, including their heads.
It is ludicrous to blame this on the "socialists" or democrats. They are the ones always being blamed as "bleeding heart liberals" and soft on crime even though that is also ridiculous. The "crackdowns" on juvenile crimes occured during mostly republican administrations and congress since for the last 20 years it has been almost exclusively, with little exception and unfortunately too little resistance from their democratic cohorts until now.Pontificating on reichwing doctrine is sssooo passe`.

Adrian-you don't want big government, you don't want the government to be God-yet you apparently vote that way based on some of your posts on other topix. You got what you want-Big government.

Right on Phil..I lay this in the Director of Maint. for Upper Lake School Dist's hands: poor choice of paint! Those girls should take their knocks but gee...they are little kids. Not the first nor the last kid to do something dumb! It could have really been worse...the most flammable item in the schools bathroom's is the liquid soap...as far as the other children's safety...Upper Lake Elem. has a monitored "state of the art" fire alarm, great staff and Upper Lake has a great fire dept. There was very little danger to the rest of the kids. Sad about the cost of the repair but that is why they have a 1M dollar insurance policy!

What we have is a half honkey half jackass that bought the election with the support of the corrupt Chicago mafia, crooked businessmen, and sleazebag political associates who now make up his cabinet. It's pretty bad when another black man, Dr. Rev. Keyes calls him an abomination and demands to have this birth certificate issue resolved because Hussein is probably not legally a US Citizen. His relatives in Kenya say he was born there to a young white woman who was not old enough for the emigration/immigration process.
And this is what started a fire in the bathroom in Upper Lake?

What do you all you folks know about the paint in the bathroom? Nothing in the article about it. At least of one of these girls brought a lighter to school. Did they also find cigarettes in her backpack? This was an unfortunate accident. It was no accident that one of the girls was in posession of a lighter. Yes these were kids involved in a stupid caper. They should be punished. Is the dollar amount of damage what constitutes a felony?
The parents should bear some financial responsibility too.

I read the Elizabeths' story too. Still didn't see the paint connection. Is there some other Lake County on line news source I'm not catching?

the bathroom was painted with anti-graffiti paint which was very flammable, I want to know if the principal, school board, parents and fire marshall knew this. It may have been illegal to use that material in a school, we need some more answers.

Again, somebody help! What is the source of information on this highly flammable anti-graffiti paint supposedly used in the bathroom?

If the girls weren't PLAYING WITH FIRE it wouldn't even be an issue! Maybe they'll play with guns next time? 11 and 12 years old... there are some other issues to address here!

Nice is a poor community. What parent there can afford $150. grand, or $15. for that matter? A tongue flogging from the judge and a few hours of community service should be sufficient in this case. Jeeze! Give the girls a break for cry'n out loud.

Sounds like Donna once again, crudely remarking possibilities, guns and tween's. How crude. Sorry to read the illness is associated with truly misguided adults. Think about your last sentence! Here, as in you.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Gemini

It's a busy day and you've got quite enough to do without having to cope with people clamoring for your attention and likely to go into a huff if they don't get it. Is this person feeling neglected because you're busily occupied elsewhere or are there other reasons for their demanding mood? Simply giving them a big hug could make all the difference to their behavior.
