Other traffic information: Road Closures in Clinton County Ohio Starting Next Week --Bridge repair work on several routes in Clinton County will require road closures and detours, beginning the week of May 21: Beginning Tuesday, May 29: State Route 28 between Martinsville and New Vienna.

State Route 28 between Martinsville and New Vienna will be down to one lane. Two-way traffic will be maintained with a temporary signal for approximately 30 days.

County officials received the results of an emergency communication study suggesting additional towers, but now are wondering whether the county should go through with its independent upgrade, or join a statewide communication system.

Blanchester Village Council members voted Thursday night to approve the hiring of Mel Stein as an independent contractor to mow the grass on unmaintained lots on an as-needed basis, based on a total estimate of about $10,000. Council man David Wallace abstained.

A 23-year-old man who showed up intoxicated at his supervised probation appointment on Friday is in jail after escaping from probation officers at the Wilmington Municipal Building.
