The City of New Ulm has lost population since 2000, and from 2007 to 2008, according to figures released by the U.S. Census Bureau.

I left New Ulm in 2005. The town did not have anything to offer me or my family. I would have had to commute to Mankato to find a job that would take care of my family. I moved to Brainerd and have had many opportunities for both my wife and myself. The town needs to get creative in order to keep residents and attract new ones.
