Anyone who has spent any time in NSB knows our local DQ is more than just a business. It is a landmark and a tradition. People line up 15 or 20 deep for their food. It is a place where casual conversation among patrons is commonplace.
Just a couple of years ago, our local DQ celebrated its 50th birthday. My mother worked there before I was born. I love the recent improvements to the parking and seating situation, but further changes could destroy the hometown feel. It is what it is and people love it for that. Change it by forcing the owners to enlarge the building and provide table service? That would destroy the exact thing our DQ represents. Hometown tradition. Bigger is not necessarily better. |
