Police investigate noose incident

The noose hanging in a tree is offensive to Africian Americans,and the Pointe Coupee Public should be sensitive to it.
Not long ago this was a way of life to Cauciasians against Africians Americans.We cannot get over it.

Get over it already. It didn't happen to you personally. There are a lot of things our ancestors did that we shouldn't be held accountable for. We didn't do it. The police chief who is an African-American man was quoted by the banner saying it appeared to be a harmless Halloween incident. The rope was old and battered and it looks like someone tied it this way. Why do people like you think we owe you the world? If you don't like the way we live try to move back to your native land a little while and live there and see how it goes. It makes me so mad because I am really starting the believe that whites are not the real racist people, its the blacks. AND to clarify that it's not all of either race only SOME! Don't like what I say then don't read it. It's my opinion so go ahead and start bashing it.

Yeah, well I do not support any hate crime anywhere but if I use your analogy then there would be no more welfare, food stamps, wic, etc. because I find it offensive to stand in line at the grocery store and wait for someone taking advantage of the system to buy cigarettes and beer with their cash and junk food with their food stamps and then get in a car better than mine full of young men and women that should be working while I try and get lunch so I can go back out and make them some more money to play with.

You want to talk about offensive to African Americans? They are not African Americans. They are suppose to be Americans. I am not a Irish/German/Native American American. I am an American that feels more like a milk cow. Now thats offensive. We just finished with Halloween. That was probably some part of a yard scene. The (black) police chief said he didn't see a problem. Another offensive thing is when I go to wal mart with my young daughter and she has to hide her eyes to keep from looking at a young black mans a$$ because he will not wear the right size clothes and pull up his pants. You want offensive? The white people in this country can't even use the word or they are called a racist.

My ancestors nearly starved to death picking cotton for 50 cents a day. Had to sell everything they owned just to survive. I find it offensive that they were able to not only survive but also be productive contributor's to a society that blames their white skin for someone else being just lazy. I don't care who you are that's offensive.

Here is something to ponder, while your whining and complaining about some old piece of rope in a tree, related to something that happened far before you were even born there are currently 27 million people enslaved around the world today. This is more than double than all the slaves during the trans-atlantic slave trade.

Your pampered life is alot easier than theirs.

What I find offensive is that the tribes in Africa are still practicing the methods of slavery today. They capture others and trade them off just as they did when they traded them to be brought to america. Yet you see no black's other than Oprah Winfery going to Africa to make a difference. The problem is here in America we have created a Give Me Mentality.

I have seen too many responses with this line "If you don't like the way we live try to move back to your native land a little while and live there and see how it goes." If that's the case, my dear brothers and sisters, then we should ALL be going back to our "native" lands. Don't forget that Whites came/were brought over to America too...not just Blacks. Oh and in addition, Black were kidnapped, so uhhh mull over that one a little bit. I am really disappointed that every single time I return to my small, close-minded town that not much has changed. In fact, I find that there's even more fear that encompasses our communities - Black and White. And you should all know that it is very unfortunate because there's a whole world outside -- passing New Roads and in a greater capacity, Louisiana because our ignorance and that goes for ALL races. Our children are dying folks because our Educational system is in ruins. And it doesn't matter if you have the opportunity to shelter your children in the confines of FRA or CHSPC (of which I am an alumnae), there's a real world out there and one day our children have to face it and one day they'll be leading us.

I don't think this noose was anything, but something left over from Halloween. End of story, I don't think anyone is out to get anyone with it. Stop making it bigger than it is.

The hard working people of this country have become the slaves. We toil and put up with all kinds of stress and bad work to produce for our family while the Black Masters sit back in the big house and watch oprah. The black man has flipped it on us. We are the slaves now and every black politician is getting re-elected because of it.

I find when they wear their pants below their ass offensive and there is a law so maybe the nooses should hang until they pull those pants up.

Hey now thats an idea ! Lets all hang nooses in our yards until they pick up there pants . When the police show up ,take down your nooose and point into the crowd at all the law breakers with there pants down .Video it for the law suit .Another idea ,lets get white hoods and hang them on our front porches (can't wear them ,illegal). When the police show up ,video that too for the law suit ,When you see food stamp fraud ,report it .At first officals will turn their heads ,but if vid it on your phone and turn it over to the media ,they can't keep looking away .The way to beat these low life's is to beat them at their on game .These store owners who knownly commit food stamp fraud need to have their store closed permently and can't reopen another .
