This afternoon firefighters from New Portland and Kingfield responded to a brush/grass fire off the Middle Road in New Portland.

John Duncan, director of the Portland Area Comprehensive Transportation Committee, climbs out from the protected work and utility area hidden underneath the surface of the new Veterans Memorial Bridge, currently under construction.
