John Eagan, 84, and his friend Joyce Dowling, 81, both of New Philadelphia , were killed when the car they were riding in crashed into a van.

Police said a car driven by 84-year-old John J. Egan, of New Philadelphia, turned left from Market Street in front of oncoming traffic on Chestnut Street and was hit broadside by a car driven by John William Schrader, 61, of New Ringgold.
