What! A shooting in New orleans? Say it isn't so!

I never heard of such a thing!

It's a damn shame the way that east N.O. has gone down the toilet. Back in the late 60's and 70's Village de Lest was a wonderfull subdivision. Every one knew everyone else the park/ballfield by De Bore' elementary school was the hub of activity with the VDL Falcons ( NORD) and parent running the consession stands. You could walk around at night and not worry. Hell from what I can recall if any parent wanted to know where their kid was all they had to do is call Ma Gale's house and she knew where to find them LOL!
Wonder what happened to every one Dennis points/ Harold White/ Curtiss Paulina/ the Moncada's/ Jay Price/ Phil Brian and Joe morehouse/ Dennis Knoblauch/ Pat, Kevin and Gale ( RIP Barrett Gale)
Danny Gauthier/ Danny and dale Smith/ Chew-Bear the list goes on. They are but a memory of days gone by and better time and place.

As of this date 7-9-2009 114 people have been killed in New Orleans between drive bys and drunken driving and murders as well.
The only people getting rich are the morticians.
Who are having a very profitable year.
I do not miss Louisiana and the murdering cockroaches all over the place.

I was born in Mississippi and raised in Louisiana. Believe me young adults, children and dangerous people have complete free access to thier daddy's guns & bullets. It's not just in New Orleans that all the murderous rampage is taking place. the entire state of Louisiana is #1 in INTENTIONAL DEATH BY IDIOT'S WHO CAN GET THEIR DADDY'S GUN & START OFF BY SHOOTING TO DEATH THEIR PARENTS then proceed to shoot all the neighbors! My precious son who had just turned 16 days before was kidnapped from my home and murdered by an almost 16 year old neighbor that got mad at his parents in 2007 and shot them to death. The idiot has confessed to shooting his parents & my beloved baby son. The idiot is in prison for life but tried to blame my son who had no reason to hurt or shoot anybody. We don't live anywhere near New Orleans. All of Louisiana is GUN CRAZY and the more guns you have the better off you are. Yeah, and I crap solid gold turds. I have issue's I HATE GUNS & BULLETS!

I read your statement and believe me I own a gun for one reason only protection.
I have never taken my gun to the range or have I even shot it.
I was raised around guns all my life but my Daddy always said owning a gun is like having a spare tire for your car.
You want it just in case of a emergency.
Please understand no parent should ever lose a child to violence.
I feel Louisiana needs to start arresting and jailing the parents of these murderers.
The parents whose child kills another accidental or not need to face charges.
So that other parents will understand how serious murders are and not something to take lightly.
That child and the parents of Louisiana need to understand parental responsibility.
So you know I know that empty place in your life.
My nephew who I raised while his parents were going through a divorce.
Was killed in a traffic accident the driver of the car that struck him said he tried everything humanly possible to miss him.
He was 24 and the other driver even pulled into a ditch but couldn't avoid him.
He was killed instantly and I haven't stopped missing him a day in my life.
So know this I do understand and hope in time you will be able to find it in your soul to remember.
No one knows why these things happen.
They just do but remember that you must take care of yourself and move forward.
They are never far from our heart and our souls.
So please take care and know you are not alone.

I totally understand why you feel this way, and I would do anything to give you back your little son. But it's not good people who use their guns to murder innocents. Murderers and criminals have given guns a bad name. Guns don't kill, the idiots who use them to kill do. If gun's were outlawed, that is exactly what would happen. Only the outlaws would have them. Where would safety fall in after that? What about all the knives, machetes, strangulations, and broken necks from pure physical abuse?

Man even though I personally hate guns doesn't mean I want guns outlawed. I want adults in Louisiana & all of America to take responsibility for properly storing & securing their firearms and bullets in steel gun safe's or other proper security devices. LOCK UP YOUR GUNS. My 16 year old son should never have been taken from my home at gun point by an almost 16 year old on a murderous rampage who was mad at his parents family rules so he shoots them both to death & then starts shooting at others in the neighborhood. The idiot white boy should never have had access to the families collection of guns and should be in a maximum security prison instead of the medium security work release facility. connor wood is in this medium security prison because he's an 18 year old white boy. If he were black or hispanic he'd be in Angola.

Dear Miss Judy,
I looked up the crime in google.
I now understand the depth of your pain.
The suffering your child went through is beyond cruel and horrorific.
I can't believe that kid isn't in Angola other then his being fifthteen at the time is a factor.
I hated how he blamed the victims for his crime.
Yes you are right the parents had a obligation to protect their friends and familly and even themselves from this little monster.
I know someone telling how sorry they are seems hollow in that fact.
I read the court documents and proceedings on -line and the pain you are suffering is unimaginable.
Yes you have a right to feel angry that your son was murdered by someone who he thought was his friend.
You have had that sense of safety removed and that place you raised your son and made you feel whole is now full of the horror of what happened that night.
Please understand how many of us only own a gun as a last resort
Your right that boy should be rotting in Angola and suffering on a daily basis.
Please take care of yourself it is up to you to remind others that this could have been their child.
