Why would you want the garbage that comes with the train here??? I rather walk than have more problems like the bums who take the bus up here. If we get the train we get the garbage.

1 Town Green.(Thanks St. Johns Church) You want to see this town go down hill and crime rise quickly just bring in the train. Read the papers now, the bums coming up from Danbury are being arrested from drinking behind city hall, fighting, bothering women, and stealing from our cars. Yes don't leave your car unlocked on the Green anymore. We live in a nice New England town, lets keep it that way. |

I have a business on Bank Street and I will most likely leave if Bank Street becomes a pedestrian area. How will deliveries be made? Parking is already tight in New Milford, do we really need less spots? Parents like to pick their kids up in front of the movie theater, they like to park near their hair salon, they like to park and run in for a cup of coffee. Most of our customers are locals and we depend on them and want them to be able to easily access Bank Street. If the train comes up here is there a plan for where the additional parking near the station will be? On regular week days the free lot is pretty full. Lets work on getting more viable business in New Milford and fill the big empty spaces (former CVS and Forsythia's) before we get too worked up about getting more people here. If good stores and restaurants are present the people will come.

1 Most people in the city can't be bothered by such crap. However, as someone who has been unemployed and spent most of their life in the New York area, it irks me to see the trains in Grand Central packed with commuters taking jobs from the natives. Maybe I'll come up your way and take a job and a cheaper dwelling. Don't worry, I'm white and educated. No need to run from me. It's obvious why the train isn't wanted in your towns... |

1 The train is crowded. |

It used to be that more people who worked in the city lived in it or closer to it, but housing prices are so high now that the only people who can afford to live there today seem to be very rich or very poor (on welfare so that they're not actually paying for it). I'm generally all in favor of more trains, not that I go into NYC to party (although I did go in a couple times to be on the balloon crew on Macy's TD parade). The issue with New Milford has to do with the investment and operating costs. How many people are going to benefit and at what cost per person? If it costs $12 million in capital improvements and then a net loss of several hundred thousand per year to make life a little easier for 100 commuters, that's very poor value for the taxpayers dollar, even if I love the idea of seeing the choo-choo in new Milford every day. |

What a waste of money -
Few people will actually give up their cars - Bus service would be a better option - Observe the next bus you see - Is it emply? full? There are so many other projects that would benefit the majority of people - |
