She was born June 28, 1955, in Weirton, daughter of Arlene Lee Merriner Cool of New Cumberland and of the late John H. Cool.

Today is Election Day in West Virginia, and voters can cast ballots in the 2012 presidential primary election as well as several local and municipal races.
