Fort Loramie - A Darke County was accidently shot, apparently by his wife, while target shooting at a residence near Fort Loramie, in northwestern Shelby County.

NEW MADISON, Ohio - John S. Railsback, age 84, of New Madison, Ohio, died Saturday, December 31, 2011, at Heartland Healthcare in Greenville, Ohio.

The new Madison police precinct is scheduled to officially begin operations Sunday at 6:30 a.m. The precinct will cover 69 square miles and will reduce the current land area of the North precinct by one third.

Students, teachers and the staff at Tri-Village Schools in New Madison in Darke County raised more than $3,500 to make Christmas merrier for 6 families in their school district, plus an additional half dozen other children.

The Darke County Sheriff's Department said Mary E. Behee, 85, of New Madison, was driving a tan Chrysler 300M westbound on Rush Road approaching the stop sign at Richmond-Palestine Road.
