Eighteen-year-olds Jacob M. Bell and Jacob M. Haddad were taken into custody shortly after the robbery Wednesday night at the CV Mart in the 6800 block of Carlisle Pike, according to Silver Spring Township police.

Police said they took an accused intruder into custody after he broke into a house where a 14-year-old girl was home alone.

Several children were nearly struck by falling rocks and some homes were damaged by a blasting accident at a Cumberland County construction site, police said.

One hundred years ago today, a group of motivated New Kingstown residents gathered in the local social hall of the International Order of Odd Fellows.
