FIRE CAUSES POWER OUTAGE - A fire at an Oncor substation near Chico yesterday around 11:30 a.m. knocked out power in the Chico, Alvord and Sunset areas.

STOLEN PROPERTY RECOVERED - Tony Paulini, 36, of Bryan was arrested last week after an investigation revealed approximately $218,000 in stolen goods on his property in the 900 block of County Road 1380 near Alvord.

East Wise Fire and Rescue is having a fundraising event 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at New Fairview City Hall on Farm Road 407.There will be food, live music, fire trucks, a dunking booth, and fire and rescue demonstrations.
