New Fairfield needs bridge builders first

Full story: News Times

The tale of the two old houses without a bridge to reach them typifies First Selectman John Hodge's lack of managerial and leadership skills and is most embarrassing for New Fairfield.

Both of the houses should have been torn down, BIG waste of money. Hodge podge could have tried reallocating the grant to something else more useful. John you are a joke, and I think it's time for you to go.

"THE BEST IS YET TO COME" WAS THE MOTTO OF JOHN HODGE'S LAST CAMPAIGN. Well we're still waiting for the best and it appears that the best is coming with our own home grown Monika Thiel and Tom Corbett. Monika is a product of New Fairfield! Monika has advanced MBA degree along with project management experience to boot. Monika knows from first hand experience the New Fairfield school system, its strengths, its weakness, and what's really needed as a member of the Board of Education.
Monika has been a champion of education and warning of the CMT scores but the Chairman Kim Hansen (R) and Vice Chair Ken Chapman(R)[Democrat turned Republican and Hodge running mate's husband] silence all dissent on the Board of Education. Let's give Monika our support as First Selectman to ensure she is not silenced again!!!

This is certainly his worst piece of work but other than that he's done a fine job running the town. Especially in times like these. He has my vote.

This lady has been attacking John Hodge for years. She is bitter about something. She is such a radical anything she says should be ignored.

What was there in the content of that letter that wasn't factual? The FACT is that despite how you feel about "this Lady" there is validity to the issues she protests. Regarding both Lucy and John, for some reason you are in favor of blaming the messenger more than the perpetrator. If you are all about the facts, stop ignoring them, no matter who presents them.

So there is no truth to these facts?

1. That there is no bridge and that 2 bridges have had to be removed because he didn't know any better?

2. That there was no use for the $15,000 worth of weevils that Hodge put up such a fuss about?

3. That Hodge nearly cost the taxpayers an extra 1 million dollars for a communication plan because he didn't do his homework on?

These are facts, not personal attacks!

Forgot to mention the $500,000 price tag for this mess that according to Hodge didn't cost the taxpayers a single dime!

FINALLY !! People have to start seeing what Hodge is doing and the mess he will leave the town in. Been in New Fairfield over 40 years, he is the worst. Nasty, controlling, and dishonest. Time for a change before it is too late.

Time to vote NO to the Hodge/Chapman ticket. Neither one has our best interest at heart. Our vote is a NO MORE.

Be careful what you wish for ... another two years with Hodge:

The last four years we taxpayers have been over taxed by approximately $4,000,000 dollars and now rather than putting away surplus [over taxation funds]for that proverbially rainy day, we are going to spend it on an obsolete communication system. What I can't understand is why the price of the system has dropped by over a $1,000,000 [read New Fairfield Taxpayer Dollars] and the effectiveness of the communication system has increased to 95% of the entire town. "WOW!" as Doug Thielen would say ... such a deal! I was looking for an appropriate quote as Doug would do and low and behold I found one ... but it was to graphic to blog.

Look this article was written by an unstable Sherman resident who has anger issues about the current First Selectman because her close personnal school nurse friend was ousted years ago in a bid for re-election and has yet to get over it. The town has moved on and moved on successfully. The spin she put on this opinion piece is obvious.

And funny thing is that Lucy DeWacko is a member of the Board of Finance that oversee all projects including this one. She did nothing about this but whine and complain after the fact. Go back to Sherman you hypocrite. Leave New Fairfield alone. And leave Hodge alone. He's the reason New Fairfield is one of the most beautiful and desirable towns to live in in entire area.

The sun rose in the east and set in the west this week. The earth revolved on its axis every 24 hours. Lucy DiRocco and Jodi Gemmel wrote letters critizing John Hodge. These are just some of the constants in our daily life.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Leo

If you look closely, you'll see a black cloud hovering over a loved one's head. They'll find the smallest excuse for losing their temper or throwing a tantrum, so tiptoe around them or try to jolly them out of their filthy mood. If the situation continues you may decide that it would be better to get the inevitable argument out of the way than to pussyfoot around them any longer.
