Ill. Highway worker killed, three injured on I-64

A contract worker for the Illinois Department of Transportation was killed Tuesday morning by an automobile that veered into into a highway striping truck on Interstate 64 near O'Fallon. Three other workers were injured in the accident, two of whom were airlifted to an area hospital in critical condition, according to the Illinois State Police.

Three IDOT highway workers were struck at mile marker #13 on eastbound I-64 in Illinois.

Two hospital helicopters are en route to help get workers to medical attention. The workers are employees of Brightway Striping Services of New Baden Illinois.
