Mine, as well. One month to the day that my grandfather died, my grandmother died. Then two months after that my dad had a massive heart attack, but lived another two years. This all happened about 40 years ago.

"Her husband died late last week, in early June, proving the scientific phenomenon of spouses dying close together is factual."

This is a Carol Forslaff ignorant statement!

The observation may be said to be supportive evidence, but it is journalistic malfeasance to state that it is "proof" of the conclusion. She applies the same faulty logic in her racial rantings.

another poorly written article with even worse sustantive basis...30% is not what any in the scientific community would call basis for a label of "factual". One could disclaim this "phenomenon" by purely taking the remaining 70% and saying it is "factually" disproved..the survey itself called into question the wide-ranging definitions of those involved with regard to "timeframe" i.e. what we define as "close"...2-6 months is too wide a timeframe to be conclusive...coincidence? or factual phenomenon?

My parents had already celebrated their 63rd anniversary at the time of my fathers death. My mother passed away 17 months later because a blood clot (which developed a few weeks earlier after simple surgery) went to her lungs & she died instantly in my arms. So obviously this was not a case of grieving for my father. She was still laughin' and lovin' life after my father passed away. I love my husband deeply but I feel that life is too precious NOT to move forward. However, I do think that many widows/widowers do grieve themselves into an early grave. I don't see this as scientific at all...they just choose to give into their grief instead of living each as a gift...Happy Monday folks!

Heard a funny story once of how an elderly lady died and her husband died a week later. They thought it was grief, when in reality, he just couldn't find where she had put his medications.

There are surely examples to the contrary.

My grandpa died in 1967 and my grandma died in 1998. He had a massive heart attack and she died of "old age". She had a bleeding problem and eventually decided not to take treatment anymore.

Daily Horoscope for December 10

Leo

Be choosy about who you spend time with today. If you're with someone who's habitually miserable or sorry for themselves, you'll soon be dragged down to their level and will struggle to recover again. However, you may feel such sympathy for their plight that you don't see you have any choice but to be with them. If so, do your best to remain positive.
