A 53-year-old man from Houston was killed late Monday night when his SUV caught on fire after he rear-ended a tractor-trailer in Medina County.

Several area communities conducted elections Tuesday, with Schertz, Selma, Natalia and Windcrest considering financial issues and Von Ormy filling three alderman seats.

It is among the few public middle schools in Texas to receive a distinguished GreatSchools Rating of 9 out of 10. It will be interesting to see if they will be able to maintain the ranking or improve on it.

The real question though, are we really preparing the kids for later success in High school and beyond? Or are the kids being taught what will be on the TAKS tests. Teachers are between a rock and a hard place on this one. Since their success as a teacher is also based on how well the children do which is reflected on those same test scores.

Medina County sheriff's Officials have arrested four juveniles in connection with a string of arsons in Natalia.

Two men have been arrested in connection with a week-long search for bodies in Medina County.

Sheriffa TMs investigators, FBI agents, and Texas Rangers are scouring the grounds near a Medina County home looking for the remains of two people.
