The only people that owe thanks are the Ripofflicans , W and the Chainys , that have made millions off these people dying for them.

These are truly real Heroes!! Thank you for your service and may God Bless you and your family.
I was a vet of the Vietnam War. Last Summer took a one month trip to Sicily and France. All along the beaches of Normandy, it's lined with multi-million dollar hotels and casino's. You walk out on the beaches, near the ocean and you get cold chills. It's almost like you can hear and see it all. The LST's coming in and troops jumping off, the gun fire, Sergeants yelling orders, the cries from the wounded and dying. One old Frenchman told me, " the ghosts of the heroes are here on these beaches and they will never leave us". Further North at Dunkirk, it's much the same. More than 9,000 troops buried at Normandy alone.

I wonder if people realize that 1,257,974 men and women have died since the Revolutionary War so that fools like us can come on threads like this and say anything we want because of the First Amendment right to Freedom of Speech. Thank God for the sacrifices our veterans have made.

Mr Ray Burchfeild, my father was with Co. K, 3rd platoon, 3rd squad, 357th Infantry, 90th Infantry Division. In my career with the military, I was assigned to the 12th SFGA, which came fromonce the 2nd Ranger that climbed the cliffs at Normandy. I also met two of the individuals at seprate time. One on a demostration in downtown Chicago on Armed Forces Week in May 82, and the other, sorry to say on a military funeral assignment. I also met a retired judge from the 7th or 9th Federal Circut Court, who said and I believe he was there driving one of those landing craft. I am so honored to meet such people in my life, because, when I think I have it tough, I know other had it tougher, and this keeps me moving. God has all those who defended us from such evil in his heart. Thank you.

Good bless all the veterans and their loved ones that had to sacrifice something most of us will never know. I for one will always remember D-Day and know that because of their sacrifice and all veterans we are free. Let us not forget the loved ones that also sacrificed.

God bless them all an they will never be forgotten.

We tell these vets that their sacrifice will never be forgotten. Unfortunately, I am very afraid that among the masses of upwardly-mobile progressive and modern urbanites, it's already forgotten. When the I-Pod is on the fritz or when the going gets ugly in a war zone 10,000 miles away, it's forgotten in todays media and today's pusillanimous population that men and women waded through bullets and died 65 years ago and last week so we could have our lives of comparative privilege.

Thank you for the kind words towards my father. He doesn't get the internet but I will see that he gets your post, he does do direct e-mail. He is in the Veterans Home in El Paso, Texas. I think I learned a little more about him from this story, because he does not talk about this experience much at all.
Thank You.

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Aries

It's one of those days when you'd be wise to mind your Ps and Qs if you want to avoid putting both feet in it or feeling like a fool. The trouble is that you're finding it hard to think before you speak, and you're rushing into situations without thinking about the possible consequences. All you can do is to apologize and try your hardest not to let it happen again.
