Area residents find ways to cut back on spending
“We would come [to Myrtle Beach] more, but the gas prices are killing me”
On the Grand Strand, prices at the pump are hitting many people's wallets.

Gas prices reached a new record in Myrtle Beach during the weekend, at $3.20 for a gallon of regular.
'I've stopped looking at what it costs. I just put the card in and pay it,' he said. 'If I stopped to think about it, it would probably drive me nuts.' Read more

But with the county diverting most accommodations tax funds for infrastructure and visitor services, that money is no longer available to promote and fund local events. Read more
