A diamond in the rough is now worth more than $21,000. One Arkansas couple found the hidden treasure at Crater of Diamonds State Park last March, and a Fayetteville jeweler helped the couple turn it into a perfect cut.

A diamond's appraisal, either in the stone's rough form, or later after it has been cut and polished, must be done elsewhere.

A countdown is underway to a big diamond find at a Murfreesboro park. "Who will find the 30,000th diamond?" is the question looming at the Crater of Diamonds State Park since it's set to celebrate two big milestones this year.
