My first term in the Legislature, Winnie Ruth Miller, a retired teacher asked me if I would write an introductory letter to a pictorial book entitled "School Days." This book provides memories for a slice of time in small schools of Harrison County.

Christmas came a little late to the Jeter family of Hallsville. The family lost all its belongings in a Christmas Day house fire and has relocated to a nearby duplex.
