The Mountain View Whisman School District is pleased to announce Ms. Sharon Burns as the new principal of Huff Elementary School. Ms. Burns replaces Rick Yee who has resigned from the position.

Sharon began her career in the Mountain View Whisman School District in August of 2001 as a Language Arts teacher at Graham Middle School where she was Department Chair. She has been a New Teacher Advisor since 2005. Sharon also served as principal for the middle school summer school last year. She taught grades 3-6 for five years in Canada. She recently completed the district’s Leadership Academy Program, which is aimed at developing district leadership.

Sharon earned her BA in Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo (Canada) as well as a BA of Education from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. She received her MA in Educational Policy and Administration from University of Western Ontario and her Administrative Credential from Santa Clara University.

Sharon’s first day at Huff School will be August 4, the day all administrators return for the new school year. Please join us in welcoming Sharon to Huff!
