Anyone who can not provide proper care and super-vision of these animals does not need them. If it were children we would not be so lenient, because it was just animals we seem to take a different tone. I disagree this woman should be held fully accountable for her actions. Thank God, someone stepped up to the plate to take care of these animals, these are the organizations that deserve our support. She is very selfish, and if she is mentally ill she should be in a facility somewhere.

I don't know how aware any readers are of KY's ranking among other states when it comes to animal cruelty but our state is 50 out of 50. This means that we are the worst state for punishing those who are cruel to animals. We have the weakest laws regarding animal cruelty and at this point, there is little hope for a change. It is up to concerned citizens to make a difference. Contact your local and state representatives and stress your opinions to them. A slap on the wrist is little punishment for animal cruelty/neglect.

lets see lock up the human put it in jail because it had some dogs i mean animals hmmm somthing just aint right. lock up humans and tie up dogs ?
we do eat pigs chickens cows beef ect dont we. i wonder o but wait they are animals to . dont get mad dog lovers im just stating a fact is all. jesus loves you...... |

just a dog. eh well maybe so but it was her reponsibility to take care of those animals and she didn't. If you cant take care of something you shouldn't have it all.. animals cant tell us when there hurting and its not like the dogs could open the door and walk and take care of themselves. they depend on us just like cattle chickens and so on depend on us to take care of them. Just stating a fact is all. the woman needs something done to her so she cant do it again.

People who mistreat ANY animal should be punished fairly. "Just a dog" consider that many who willingly abuse, neglect, or in any way mistreat animals are most likely to do the same to another human being if given the opportunity. I do not want to get into an online argument or debate, "just stating a fact." Laws should be enacted which will create legal grounds for punishing those who mistreat animals, whether or not it is cat, dog, bovine, swine, poultry, etc.

whats sad is that you can get locked up quicker for doing something to a dog than for a human and its sad doctors kill baby's every day and don't face penalty whats this nation come to that animals are more important than humans thats sad!!

"Concerned," the sad thing is that in reality, no one is punished severely enough for crimes. I, too, agree that abortion, which is what I think you are talking about in regard to doctors, is murder. However, in our society, our leaders have become too liberal.

We already have the worlds largest prison population, lets make all laws so strict you go to jail for walking out the front door at 6:31 instead of 6:30. 50 years in prison for a mentally disturbed woman having more dogs than she can take care of. Maybe we can make the prisons America's largest buisness bigger than walmart hell we could lock up 50% of the population. We already have enough stupid laws in this country. They charged her with animal cruelty several counts what do you want to do have her executed. You people are idiots... coming from a person that loves and cares for their animals.

why would anyone want that many dogs and starve them
|
||||
let me ask you something did you see those animals close up not the pics in the paper or on the news but with your own eyes well as someone who did i hope she does get put in prison and you should too if you take care of your animals i take care of mine and when they arent well i do all i can to put thier health back in shape and if i cant afford them i will give them to someone who can not allow them to come to this kind of harm yes there do need to be strickter laws so people like her dont get to keep doing this as she has this isnt the first time shes been busted you know she needs for her friends and family to hear loud and clear that if she is mental then they need to step up to the plate and put a stop to it for her since she cant seem to do it i love animals as much as the next dog lover but they never go hungry to the extent that a 150 lb dog weighs 80 lbs there were times in the past that i have even fed groceries to keep my dogs from being hungry there are other ways to care for them i have NO SYMPATHY FOR HER OR THOSE AROUND HER FOR WHAT SHE HAS AND BEEN ALLOWED TO DO TO THESE ANIMALS |

hey I aint taking up for her in the least but i will tell you one thing. There are much bigger problems in and world and we sure dont need a bunch more stupid laws like the people above think. The answer to everything isnt new laws we cant enforce the ones we have. It just got so that she couldnt take care of them and yes she should have done better and tried to get help, but it isnt like she is friggin Micheal Vick maliciously causing harm and murdering her dogs just for the fun of it and to make money. How long did he serve, go on that criteria. and he Personally strangled, electrocuted, and drowned some of those dogs his self while i assume he was being cheered on by the rest of the idiots that would get pleasure from killing animals and watching them fight to the death. (ever seen a dogfight, you dont want to its horrible. Most sickening thing that I have ever seen. These people are the real criminals) I am just saying that is pure EVIL that is animal cruelty, I know this is bad but it coulda been a lot worse.

That's an interesting point. If people are dropping off the animals near her knowing she will try to take care of them then can the community chastise someone for trying to keep the animals alive? I guess she could have called the local animal shelter but hearing the horrer stories about that she might have not wanted to think about them getting killed and tried to do what she could. After reading an article about all this it's reported that this woman has been caught doing this before(?) If this is the case then why wouldn't law enforcement not have been watching for this to happen again? I don't see much if any police presence in the city or county so I can't see where they couldn't have done a drive by before it got out of hand again. Anyway, this quoted post has me looking at it all with a slightly different light. I'm forced to rethink my opinions about all this now.. I had pretty much looked at this woman as some nut job that took in any animal she could creating as health hazard for people as well as the animals. I'm not so sure the lady should be condemned so quickly now. |

watcher the reason that she wasnt watched is that the crime she had been busted for was only a misdemeanor in the state of ky and a fifty ? dollar fine because the law dosent cover it that is why we need laws to protect those without a voice those that god gave to us to feed ourselves to clothe ourselves and to have as loyal and loving companions they have no voice and get ne respect in this county and they need someone to stand up and try to protect them i habe heard that the rescue groups that saved them are getting death threats and have been since the night they rescued the very first of them |

Kentucky is ranked 50th in animal cruelty laws. If she is only a victim trying to care for those that people "dump" on her, then she needs to speak up for herself and shed light on the actual criminals. As concerned citizens we need to be "watch dogs" for incidents such as this. I agree that there are greater crimes occurring to a level that is hard to manage but we must take things one step at a time. In no way do I want to get into a cyber debate on here but I do want people to know that animal cruelty is a crime, even if a misdemeanor. Maybe the punishment should be educating those convicted of this crime through community service at the shelter or one of the SEVERAL sanctioned rescue groups in the county. Could become a win-win situation all the way around.
