A local government board said a Westmoreland County woman can keep bamboo stalks as high as 35 feet in her yard because the plants can be eaten, exempting them from rules that govern grass and other plants.

I have been following this bamboo for awhile, great news these neighbors that have caused this issue are hicks to begin with, they own the worst house in the neighborhood, and the boyfriend is a convicted criminal. He plays a disabiltiy fraud,
they both have mental disabiltiy...All should boycott Scrap this in Mt Pleasant which is going under anyway, they opened a buisness here that is the dumbest thing. And she is pregnant again by this guy who cannot pay child support or see his kids because of his criminal conviction, check this idiot out.

I guess what you refer to as hicks is right on the money, as I saw those two clowns on TV do a interview on the news. She was wearing Walmart look alike wrp around arnold the terminator glasses, "what a hard looking babe" out of easy rider, and the man was a total idiot he had his kid on TV talking about the kids could not play because of the bamboo in his yard"key pharse his bamboo" and did you notice the kid was barefooted, what a circus act. I,m lost on the buisness these charactors own, Scrap this! All I can say is if your refering to they own a junk yard they fit the part. Go Bamboo owner, they bought the property with the roots in the ground and if they want it gone then cut theirs out and build a barrier.

Now HOW would bamboo make it unsafe? Does it harbor jungle animals we all don't know about!? HA! My mom wishes she knew the lady that had the bamboo so she could ask for a sprout to grow it here he he....

I live on the same street as the family with the bamboo. It poses no harm to other children. This street is quiet and I have never heard another neighbor complain. The neighbors that brought this issue to trial are obviously in desperate need of their own attention and will stop at nothing to get it. It's about time to stop complaining and to get a life.

Wow saw the town hall meeting and heard the neighbor who was complaining threaten the town council. The other neighbor was very clear about what he refeerred to as " a poison in that neighborhood, because of that crazy neighbor. The bamboo neighbor said he pays taxes...hmm he does not own property, doesnt his girlfriend owns the house, as well as everything they have. He cannot own anything due to court judgements and child support back payments look him up on the court records. he has caused trouble at buisnesses throughout the town Applebees, Suzies ice cream, etc.I stopped by that Scrap this store and it is a scrap booking store, not a very smart idea for Mt Pleasant aa! I also noticed he thinks he is a lawyer without the edumcation factor, do this people understand even a person like me has figured out 1st they are unedumacated and further more headed for a lawsuit themselves in which they have no money to defend themselfs. That house is ready to fall down they have, but i did notice a new car which is more than the house is worth. Are they from hazzard KY?

I drove by the bamboo location last week and that place is very cool. I did notice the house next door which by the way is a dump as another blogger had discribed. I heard the complaining neighbor say because of the bamboo he could not sell his house. I think he should consider his demonstration stupidity for purchasing that hell hole to begin with. I heard this yohoo was acting as his own attorney...making a jackass out of himself, boy is he in for a surprise if he goes to the county court with his GED.

I searched the Westmoreland County court records and found that the JERK harassing this poor lady has already spend time in jail for harassment. If he keeps it up this lady should charge him with harrassment. The bamboo was in the yard when his girl friend purchased the house but it didn't stop her from buying it. I'm thinking the guy living with her is the one with the problem, hes the one doing all the complaining at the meetings yet he is not the owner of the property. Another thing thing if I have a new business in small town like Mt. Pleasent I sure would not cause problem to make people dislike me. I was in the store once and they don't have much to sell, is the going out of business sign on the door yes.

I never have liked the disussion boards like this one think they are not to productive, but found this one and another one kind of interesting because I know the parties involved and live down the street. The lady growing the bamboo has always been different in respect to her rosey outlook on life and her always up beat greetings, weird but one of the nicest caring person I have met. I wish I had her kindness and forgiving type nature. The issue of the new neighbors causing all the problems are very true and correct. The neighbor's are stuck with a bad decision for purchasing the house. That is the issue, they bought it for half the areas market value. Now they want the neighbors to pay for the mistake. We will not pay for anymore lawsuits, hire your own attorney and go to court on your nickel, the town case is over folks and that is a done deal.

I cannot believe Mr. Gelzhiser wants to file a civil lawsuit. He cannot pay support and wants to come up with money to file suit? PLEASE---the woman has lived there for how long and he wants to change things? Why did he not see this before he bought thehouse? I heard his kids went to another house to play and the fathern shooed the away saying they were not welcome there. This i carrying to 2 innocent boys. What a shame. Court ordered visit and the neighbor kicks them out. It is carrying over to 2 other people, now instead of the real culprit here. Bamboo is beautiful. Myra is a wonderful person. I also heard he wanted to take the neighbors handicapped parking space away too. Oh, what a mess. I hope that Mr. Gelzhiser has learned a lesson......to leave people alone and live his life. If the cart is not broken, then do not fix it!! Enough said. GO MYRA!!!!!!!!!!

Today I heard the civil case brought against the bamboo lady in Westmoreland District court. This makes the cake. The Complaintants came to court with what is nothing more than a circus show, a midget, and some other lady both witnesses do no live near the area. Again the nuts tried there case without an attorney, and again they lost. Now the only avenue is another appeal to the County Court which is so funny this people cannot figure out they are screwed. The female was great she has no education or idea of what she was doing, the magistrate was more than fair. Now the tables change they have to start spending money and they have none to hire a attorney, come on have you people not figured out your toast.

Well, the latest news on the subject is that the complaintants (neighbors)took the bamboo to district court . The great news they showed up and made fools of themselves again. The brought a box of bamboo to court which they surely cultivated for evidence and brought 2 witneeses both who came off as nuts. The court again ruled in favor of Ms Postner and the Bamboo. Dumb and dumber again represented themselves and tried to get by without an attorney thinking they were so cool, what a joke, I wish I could have filmed the
scence. D& D stayed after court trying to figure out how to appeal. My prediction is an appeal and another big loss. Now the war begins and theses fools are going to have to pay big bucks to play.
