With its highest elevation just over 6,200 feet, most of Laguna's trails are at more than 5,000 feet up, where snow levels can persist.

Updated at 9:45 a.m. April 14, 2012 Heavy snow fell Saturday on the Laguna Mountains as a mid-April winter storm blew down from the Arctic Circle andA washed ashore in San Diego County.

As of 6:45 a.m. Saturday, Caltrans and the Highway Patrol reported no restrictions on highways 78 or 79.

Mt. Laguna received heavy snow on Dec. 16, 2011, creating great sledding conditions.

The sun is out. The two feet of snow on Mount Laguna from the last big storm is quickly melting.
