Mounds View police have arrested a man who picked up his 3-year-old daughter at a day-care home last month and threatened to keep her away from the girl's mother for "months or years," police said Friday, May 25.

Medtronic and General Milles-two major companies with facilities in Fridley-announced Tuesday they will lay off hundreds of workers worldwide, but the impact for Fridley workers isn't completely clear yet.
