Beginning next week, the Mound Bayou School District will be sponsoring a Summer Feeding Program for a portion of the summer months.

Gov. Phil Bryant signed senate bill 2760, which proposed to consolidate the six school districts in Bolivar County into three, last week.

The SAFETEA-LU projects for several communities in Bolivar County have begun this week.

An unidentified man being held in connection with a shooting outside a popular nightspot in Mound Bayou, which left another man dead and a city police officer on suspended leave, has been released from custody waiting results from the Mississippi State Crime Lab in Jackson.
