Argument leads to car crash in Moreauville
A domestic dispute between the driver of a vehicle and her passenger led to a March 10 car crash near Moreauville. The driver and alleged victim, a 60-year-old woman, told police that her passenger, 46-year-old Kennedy F. Walker of Moreauville, became enraged during a dispute and grabbed the vehicle's steering wheel while threatening to kill the victim. She said that Walker steered the vehicle into a ditch, where it struck a culvert and rolled onto its side, police said. The driver suffered moderate injuries during the crash and was transported to a local hospital, while Walker fled the scene on foot. He was arrested a day later by Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's Office deputies. Walker was charged with attempted second-degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property and a probation and parole warrant from Calcasieu Parish. He was booked into the Avoyelles Detention Center, where he awaits a $250,000 bond.
