Appanoose County train rides from Moravia to Albia July 11-12
The annual Appanoose Country Train Rides will be July 11 and 12 in Moravia. The scenic 70-minute train ride in an open air passenger car pulled by a diesel-electric engine begins at the Wabash Depot Museum and travels north to Albia before returning.
Outdoor activities dominate during July

Honey Creek Resort to host Red Rock Threshers Ride July 17-18
Honey Creek Resort State Park, located on Rathbun Lake in Moravia, will be hosting the 2009 Red Rock Threshers Tractor Ride on July 17-18. Over 250 tractors will be on display at the resort on July 16 with the southern Iowa ride slated for July 17-18. The ride will travel through several communities during the two-day event.
