A 7-year-old boy waiting for a school bus Friday morning was struck and killed by a car that ran a red light in the small town of Montrose and then crashed, the Minnesota State Patrol said.

A driver ran a red light, then went on a sidewalk and struck a 7-year-old boy waiting for a schoolbus in Montrose, Minn., on Friday, leaving the child and the driver dead, the Minnesota State Patrol said.

MONTROSE, Minn. - The Minnesota State Patrol says two people are dead after a vehicle veered off a highway in Wright County and struck a child waiting for a school bus.

A child was struck and killed while waiting for a school bus in Montrose, Minn., around 8 a.m. today, the Minnesota State Patrol said.
