Troopers are investigating an Owen County collision resulting in the deaths of two men and injuring a third.

Larry C. Conway, 54, of Frankfort, was driving a vehicle that crossed the center line of U.S. 127 near Monterey and collided with an oncoming vehicle driven by Daniel S. Ballard, 46, of Owenton at about 6 a.m., according to a news release from state police.

Two people have been killed in a head-on crash. The Owen County Sheriff said it happened on Highway 127, just south of Monterey a few miles north of the Franklin County line around 6:30 FridayA evening.A The crash killed an Owen County husband; his wife was flown to UK Hospital in serious condition, according to the sheriff.

Three men who allegedly used a stolen backhoe to lift an ATM from a Reilly Road parking lot now face theft charges.

Frankfort Police are searching for someone they say stole a backhoe and used it to remove an ATM from a parking lot.
