Mr.Pickens, I am still concerned about your comments about the cops. You were in past wars a man of honor. You served you country and put your self in harms way for others. You did this for very little money. You were away from home and your loved ones.I am sure that you cut up a little with your buddies at barracks or bar.I am sure you have some pictures that are private to you.

If in the middle of the night ,you needed help, you sir could count on these 2 guys they are some of the best cops I know. You did not make sure it was a deer sir before you pulled the triger. You have damaged them because you are well respected on this site.I will ask sir that you rethink your position and therefore the comments you made. Maybe you should get to know these guys before you are so harsh on them. I am sure you are a man of honor and will do the right thing. Thanks Sir

Mr. Pickens is not Carl (Karl). He knows stuff from the late 50's in Marshville only someone who was here at the time would know.

The US population has become almost nomadic as people move from one area to another and from job to job. Some companies move their middle and upper management frequently not allowing them to establish themselves before again sending them to another location. People build a fine house in a desirable area with the idea of living in it a short time and selling it for a profit before moving yet again and starting over. This is transient population not native population.
People who are native to an area and can trace their ancestry back several generations in the same area are becoming increasingly rare.
NC is my home state, Marshville is my hometown. I was born in Union County. I can trace my father's family back 6 generations and they all lived in this area. I can trace my mother's family back to when they settled in Mecklenburg County NC just before the American Revolution. Many members of our family have left the area to go to school, to fight in this country's wars and for jobs but they almost all returned. This was their home. My relatives and ancestors are buried in the church cemeteries of Union, Mecklenburg and Cabarrus Counties. This is my region, this is my state. I am a native.
The people who move here have no concept or knowledge of the culture and history of this area. This is only a place to live to them. They are transient population. They have no love and little or no attachment to this area or this state.
My relatives will be here when the transient nomads' bones turn to dust and are long forgotten. They are not North Carolineans, They are not Union Countians. They are transients. They are temporary residents.
WE are all temporary Sir

JOHNL - Easley isn't the only Democrat in the entire state or our country. He doesn't represent all ethical viewpoints of liberal progressivists. And manipulation of campaign and/or other legal-political finances is not limited to the Democratic party. Does former NC House rep. Breazeale ring a bell?

Bill Hargett - Yes, our forefathers happened to be Christians. One interesting fact that most people arguing your stance leave out is that the original people of our country were, in factm fleeing religious persecution. Seraching for freedom of religious and all other types of expression and well as religious tolerance and acceptance. Is it a curiosity why our 1st amendment in the Bill of Rights involves freedom of speech, religion, press, and assembly?

Fiscal conservativism is a good theory, but when capitalism is put into practice without thorough regulation, well... just look at October 2008. Or better yet, look back into history at the late 1920s-1930s. Is it any wonder that socialist-esque organizations, such as Social Security, had to be established by a Democratic president, FDR, in order for any financial balance to arise after a series of fiscally irresponsible Republican presidents left the country in crisis? Not until the 1980s did homelessness become a trend again for families and not just drug users, a time period also similarly marked with a Republican economic regime. It took a Democrat in the 1930s, and it'll take a Democrat in the 2000s as well.

History repeats itself.

George W. Bush left this country at it lowest ebb nationally and internationally in generations. The Constitution has been trampled, ignored and bent to justify the illegal means of the Neocons. A unwinnable war against a people that had NOTHING to do with the events of 9/11 has contributed with the deregulation of Banking and Securties to freefall of the economy.
To say that Barrack Obama is going to take the nation down is
ludicrous. This nation has only one way to go considering how low the Bush regime has left us. Your simplistic typical uninformed conservative school of thought is indeed "Disturbed".

Why is our deficit going to be over 20 trillion dollars after Barrack Obama has only been in office for less that a year. Last time I checked the deficit under Bush's era was less than 500 Billion. Have you seen or heard of Barack Obamas Extreme leftist zars. I'm not saying that either party is doing a great job but Barack Obama is spending way to much money. AND YOU CAN TAKE THAT TO WHATS LEFT OF OUR BANKS.

im so sorry but i have to say that your statement is ludacris! i am often amazed at how far the liberals will go to destroy a person that actually stands up for something good in this country. bush may not have been the greatest president to take that office but people knew where he stood. 9 months into his term we as a nation were attacked. he defended this great nation with the best he could. everyone rallied behind him. even the democrats in congress. they saw the same reports and even voted to support bush in the coming military actions. we were not attacked since then. i am happy that he took a stand and kept us safe since then. if im not mistaking barney frank and chris dodd and other democratic leaders pushed for the banks to lend to people who couldnt afford to pay back the loans. all in the name of equality. please stop blaming bush. this is obama's term now. the blame game is over. lets face it our country will never see another "GREAT" president again. too many people are already bought by the special interest. a common working man will never be able to lead this nation to greatness again. both sides are full of crooks. i still believe in capitalism. and democracy. thats what has made our country so great!!! in america we strive to better ourselves. but the reality is we have winners and yes we have losers. the liberals want everyone to be winners. thats just not how life is meant to be. if i lose then i work harder to win the next time. thats how we should all be. im so glad that we live in a country where we can even disagree with this topic. but wait a minute, i hear the current administration is trying to keep certain viewpoints out of public.(the ones that disagree with them)(fox news, rush, glen beck) wow, we have a president who wants to restrict what they can say. and you talk about bush ignoring the constitution.

Very good points Conservative. I too am alarmed about the Obama administration's attempt to silence their critics like Fox News and Glenn Beck. That's unheard of in a Democracy! It sounds more like something you would hear coming from a totalitarian dictatorship than a Democratic country.

It also sets a very dangerous precedent. If Obama's administration is allowed to ban Fox News from White House News briefings then future administrations can ban news organizations that criticize them.

As I said it reminds me of a dictatorship where any opposition to the dictator is banned.

I voted for Obama but I wish I hadn't. I don't like where we are headed with him as president. I think the country has made a huge mistake.

look i am a big fan of capitalism. i think the free market is great. dont try to socialize the country. if you work hard you deserve the rewards. if you dont work hard you deserve the struggles. i undersatnd that sometimes people fall on hard times and i think thats why welfare was originally created. but now-a-days so many people abuse it. and take advantage of it. i wish we had some good common sense people that would run this country. people who arent politically correct. people who arent afraid to stand for something even when it may not be popular. anyway i want you people to wake up and see what direction this country is going in now! be afraid. very afraid!!! and trust me just because i disagree with the presidents policies does not mean that i am racist!

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Leo

If you look closely, you'll see a black cloud hovering over a loved one's head. They'll find the smallest excuse for losing their temper or throwing a tantrum, so tiptoe around them or try to jolly them out of their filthy mood. If the situation continues you may decide that it would be better to get the inevitable argument out of the way than to pussyfoot around them any longer.
