The U.S. Postal Regulatory Commission issued a determination Thursday to close a Macoupin County post office.

Sheriff Arrests, Citations Dale G. Ball, 49, of 108 W. State St., Modesto, was booked into the Morgan County jail about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday on charges of unlawful use of a weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Two people were hurt early Monday morning when the vehicle in which they were riding ran off the road and overturned, the Macoupin County Sheriff's Department said.

A Modesto girl was bitten in the face by a dog when she ventured into its fenced yard Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
