Al Gore, please explain your theory on global warming to us again?

Resort owners. Hire a fleet of evil SUV drivers to circle the lake and spew hundreds of billions of tons of hydro carbons into the air.

Or better yet, invite Al Gore to come and survey your issue and give a speech to tell you that global climate change is causing this late ice out. He will fly in his private plane spewing hydro carbons, then drive there with his fleet of SUV's. Then with a good blowhard speech on the shores of the lake, that should warm the waters sufficient to melt the ice in minutes.

Buy some hydro carbon credits from Al as a souvenir.

I have had to break through the ice many many years for the opener up on Kabby. Since I am blowing off the opener this year, my memorial day weekend up there should be about the right time to nail the wallies! Unfortunately the Minny fishing opener has turned into the same thing as opening day for Deer Hunting. A bunch of city slicker weekend warriors drunk with out a clue how to be or act in the outdoors. The sooner we can get this weekend over and leave the rest of the season to the real fisherman the better!

Hold on ...Wil Steiger is on his way up, with his soap box.
he is also bringing some Inuit elders with, so they can see first hand what global warning is like in the lower 48.

I thought global warming would have taken care of all of this late ice. I think the global warming theory needs to be scrapped. This was one of the longest, coldest and earliest winters in recent history. Global warming and reality: which is your world.

You thought wrong. A stretch of cold weather in a single location, whether it be a week, a month, a season, a year cannot possibly prove or disprove a change in the climate of the planet, just as a stretch of hot weather cannot prove or disprove it. March was actually the 2nd warmest in recorded history across the planet. Care to explain? One needs only look at other comparable years...those with a La Nina pattern in the Pacific. Also...it didn't even make the top 50 coldest winters on record.

Most up to date data from NASA is were entering a global cooling stage. Ummm, Al Gore forget to tell us that in his fictional movie. So much for his 10 year doomsday prediction on rising temps.

Have another one Al.

Just as much as one year cannot prove anything, nor can a couple of hundred or thousand years. That is what global warming is based on. Getting rid of these gases cannot hurt, but why should we sacrifice our standard of living for global warming blowhards?

"if you look at the 7th day of each month of odd years in the past 70 years, then factor in when Northwest Airlines has peak flying hours you'll see a correlation that is undeniable."

ya da ya da ya da, why dont you pick a new 'cause' to ram down peoples throat - cause this one has holes like swiss cheese.

Global warming - then when its cool outside you change the name to "CLIMATE CHANGE" - so if our climate doesnt follow a straight line on the data charts - something is wrong? Go look up the simple definition of "Average".

With the amount of data on this topic, like you, I can cherry pick certain stats to prove that temperature change fluctuates and it isnt a result of humans.

WHY do we buy into this junk people ?? The polar ice caps on Mars are melting !! There are only two electrically powered rovers on that planet ! No SUV's, no lawn mowers, no icky human beings !! Yet NOWHERE does any scientist say that the SUN is causing this. Up in Alaska are billions of barrels of oil. Oil comes from decaying vegitation & animal matter - so that must mean it was once tropical. Do these idiots think we're dumb enough to not realize that this planet has gone thru many, many changes in it's 4 billion year life ? NOTHING is permenant but CHANGE. And we better get ready for it instead of blaming people who drive certain vehicles or turn on a few lights.

You beat me to this comment, the DNR wants to move it up a week so it doesn't mix with Mother's day. If it was done this year, just think how much money northern resorts and towns would have lost because the ice wasn't out yet.
