The Scioto County Sheriff's Office received a complaint on Thursday from a woman who said her boyfriend had assaulted her.

A former candidate for Scioto County prosecutor was arrested on Friday on charges of domestic violence and using a weapon while intoxicated.

A total of $30 million in funding is being anticipated to bring about a far-ranging sewer project in the Rubyville and Minford area of Scioto County, according to Scioto County Sanitary Engineer Darren Lebrun.

Scioto County is in jeopardy of losing nearly $30 million for a Minford sewer project, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said, if the project is not under construction or a contract is not signed for construction by July 31.

Donald R. Holland, 72, of Minford died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at the V.A. Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va. He was born April 7, 1939, in New Boston, a son of the late Raymond Holland and Ruth Wiley Purtee and stepfather Dallas Purtee, Sr.
