Now I'm REALLY wondering where the "proposed" Port Henry Services building (PH Fire Dept/Court Bldg/(Poss Holding Cell) will be built?
I thought that a good place for this building is where the old Port Henry High School used to be. Any further info about this? Thanks. |

This project was dead a long time ago! The Town decided that it was not affordable. They are now considering a small addition to the Court House, to be built by BOCES Students. The State would pay for the materials. As for a combination Fire House, dead in the water! I thank the Town for thinking of the taxpayers!!!

I'm not clear - Moriah Vs Port Henry Vs Mineville. Where is the museum (I know Port Henry, but where is Moriah?)
Thanks! |
||||
The hamlet of Moriah is west of Port Henry village on County Road 42 at the junction of County Road 7. Moriah Center is a hamlet north of Moriah. Mineville is a hamlet northeast of Witherbee. Witherbee is a hamlet near the north town line. They all run together...unless you have lived there, you really don't know where one begins and the other ends...:) |

Judged:
1 Cheever is area of Port Henry located North of the Village along route 9n on the way to Westport. Moriah Corners is a small hamlet, similar to Moriah Center in that it is based around a four way intersection and a few small locally owned businesses. Coot Hill - Another part of Moriah, consisting of a tiny population, based around a large hill; probably the most rural area of the town. Grover Hills - A hamlet north of Moriah Center. |
