A magnitude 2.5 earthquake struck central Virginia early Wednesday morning, originating from the same area as the 5.8 tremor that shook the region last summer.

Another aftershock from last summer's earthquake has rattled Louisa County. The U.S. Geological Survey says a 2.5-magnitude aftershock occurred at 8:08 a.m. Wednesday 5 miles southwest of Mineral and 6 miles south-southeast of Louisa.
