Babuska Racing And Frankie Babuska Rebound In Race 2 Action During...

After failing to finish Race 1 held on Saturday of the Kawasaki Devils Showdown at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville NJ, held in horrible conditions due to inclement weather, Frankie Babuska as well as the weather came back on Sunday with much better results. Frankie qualified in 13th position Saturday morning before the rain started but crashed out going into turn 1 halfway through Race 1. Frankie again lined up on the outside of Row 5 for Race 2 on Sunday, held in near perfect conditions, and battled for most of the race just outside of the top 10, finally bringing the bike home in 12th place.

In other Senior action, Millville blanked Salem, 18-0, and Penns Grove outlasted West Deptford, 24, and that's who Bridgeton plays this week.

Former Millville asphalt paving company ordered to pay $177K in 'consumer restituion'

On top of $17 million obtained back in 2011, a former South Jersey asphalt company must pay an addition $177,000 in "consumer restitution" after being sued by the state for substandard work, the state attorney general's office announced Tuesday. The New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs and Division of Law succeeded in obtaining the latest amount from Williams Asphalt Materials, LLC, a former paving company that had business addresses in Millville , as well as Burlington and Monmouth counties, but had relocated to Arkansas.

Authorities say two inmates who escaped from a youth detention center in southern New Jersey over the weekend have been captured. Eighteen-year-old Hakim Walls and 20-year-old Jermaine Jackson, both of Bridgeton, were captured Monday afternoon.

Walmart shoplifting suspect arrested in Vineland

Jhon L. Duran, 29, of Vineland, was charged with shoplifting, processed on a warrant and held at Cumberland County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail. Duran was also processed on a Jersey City warrant in the amount of $1,500.

Cumberland County Sheriff's patrol results in 4 arrests

Lamont Crymes, 55, of Pittsgrove, was arrested as a result of Cumberland County Sheriff's Office patrols in early September, according to police. Crymes was charged with receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia during the motor vehicle stop on Route 49 and Sugarman Avenue, authorities said.

MILLVILLE - City police are still investigating a car accident involving two off-duty officers on last week that sent one officer to the hospital. West Amwell police report four arrests on warrants

On Aug. 23 at about 12:30 a.m. Detective Edward Skillman stopped a tractor-trailer on Route 31 driven by Hershel Deshields, 67, of Millville for an alleged motor vehicle violation. A computer check showed that Deshields was wanted on a $561 Vineland Municipal warrant.

Woman is sought in attempted heist

Police announced on Tuesday they are looking for a Cumberland County woman they say was the getaway driver for the Aug. 17 attempted robbery of the Florence Town Liquor Store on Route 130. Rachel Lavalle, 24, of Millville is accused of driving a red Honda Odyssey after two others fled the store with nothing, even after one of them fired a gun in the direction of the cashier, said Florence Capt.

MILLVILLE - City police received an emerency alert over the weekend of an armed individual - possibly with a hostage - purportedly barricaded on Dove Drive. What it turned out to be, however, was an elaborate prank called "swatting" - involving video gamers making fake emergency phone calls about their opponents.
