A Midway man was arrested early Thursday by McDonald police for allegedly raping and sexually assaulting a girl, who is now 15, over an almost eight-year period.

Evidence of natural gas drilling expansion into Robinson Township, an area valued for its wet gas, was apparent Monday night as large trucks drove past the township's municipal building on Noblestown Road.

The McDonald, Midway and Mt. Pleasant Township volunteer fire companies are considering pooling their resources and manpower through a merger.
