Council approves fire levy for fall ballot
A resolution to place a five-year, three mill tax levy on the November ballot for the purpose of funding the purchase of a new ladder truck for the Middleport Fire Department was passed by a split vote of Middleport Village Council Monday night.
Middleport granted funds to improve parks
Middleport has received a grant from the Meigs County Health Department to be used to improve park facilities in the village as a way of encouraging residents to participate in activities which lead to a healthier lifestyle.
Library expanding days, hours at branch locations
After nearly five years of cuts to hours of operation, staffing, and other items, the Meigs County District Public Libraries will see hours return to where they once were.

One person arrested in connection with Middleport math lab
Richard A. Hill Jr., 42, of Middleport was arrested on Wednesday evening about two hours after a search warrant was executed at his residence on North Second Avenue.
Middleport to seek funding for riverfront trail
