HARTVILLE: Village officials are working with the city of Canton to extend a public water supply to the heart of this community's business district.

The city of Canton outlined its plans to extend water to Alliance, and it involved a 14-mile pipe, a new reservoir and potentially a $20 million price tag.

The city of Canton agreed to meet with an Alliance committee to discuss providing it with water.

CANTON: The City Council has approved a deal with a nursing home operator that provides an incentive for the company to hire Canton residents at a facility in the village of Meyers Lake.
