Mexia resident Elmer Gene Ballou, arrested Thursday at a day care facility on charges of possession of child pornography, is scheduled to appear before a U.S. magistrate today, according to federal court records.

The husband of the operator of a licensed home daycare in Mexia, who was charged with possession of child pornography after he was arrested during a search of the daycare, told authorities he has viewed "hundreds of images of child pornography," according to a sworn affidavit released Tuesday.
