Recently news broke that a group of researchers believe Bertie County could have been the eventual landing point for members of what is known as the Lost Colony.

During their regular meeting the board unanimously approved a Capital Project Ordinance and moved $300,000 from the School Capital Reserve to be appropriated for the new school.

Officers have suspended the search for a suspect that led troopers on a high speed chase and then ran off into the woods in Bertie County.

Annie F. Wilson, a veteran employee of the Bertie County Register of Deeds office, won election to succeed Belinda White as the top person in the office.
