Smoke to close Putnam school again Wednesday

The Putnam County school officials have decided to close Ochwilla Elementary School against Wednesday due to continuing problems with smoke from a smouldering brush fire in the area.

Wildfire smoke closes Putnam Co. school

Search warrant leads to arrest of 10 in Putnam County

Eight men and two women were arrested Friday on various drug charges after a search warrant was served and then a reverse-sting operation was set up at a home on Coolee Pond Road in Melrose, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
